Abstract: Based on the sizing of modern tills,some principal characteristics of grain size parameters of the sediments and their relation to sedimentary environment are discussed in this paper. The tills are of multipeak form in size frequency curve and very poor sorting of grain size,such as (δ₁>2, SK₁>0 or <0, and Kg = 0.53-0.73. It is suggested that the characteristics of size distribution of tills are of importance for studying the sedimentary environment and for identifying the genetic type of ancient tills.
